Personal Electronics Policy
Per school policy, Opportunity Charter School is a personal-electronics free environment. Use of personal electronics including cell phones, tablets, headphones, smartwatches, and other non-school related devices are not permitted on campus. To assist with making our school a personal-electronic free space to improve teaching and learning Opportunity Charter school utilizes the Yondr system. Yondr has been implemented in over 1,000 schools across 21 countries to facilitate an engaged learning environment.
We believe that personal electronics have great utility but we have also found that learning improves drastically and peer conflict decreases when students are fully engaged with their teachers and classmates and not a device.
