OCS Uniform Policy 2013-2014 The Opportunity Charter School is a uniform school. OCS believes there are numerous benefits to students wearing uniforms such as: · Immediate identification and security · Promotion of a positive school culture · Structured academic focus Students are required to wear their uniform and should do so with pride. There are several options for students to choose from to express their individuality and school spirit. During the school day students cannot wear non-OCS items such as sweaters, sweatshirts, and jean jackets over their uniform. The school logo should be clearly identifiable and visible at all times. Students who do not comply with the uniform policy will serve detention as determined by the Dean. Students who do not comply with the uniform policy are required to report to the Assistant Principal for Middle School, Mr. Johnson, or the Assistant Principal for High School, Mr. Greene. A phone call will be made home to parents notifying them that the student is out of compliance. Students will not be allowed to participate in any school related activities if they are not in uniform during the school day. This also includes special events during the day. Students must be in official OCS branded apparel for all school-sponsored trips unless specifically stated otherwise on the permission slip. Students who do not comply with the uniform policy will not attend the trip regardless of permission or payment submitted.
