Music classes provide instruction in the elements of music theory, music history, and vocal and instrumental performance. We also develop an understanding of how music functions in diverse cultures throughout history. All students are given the opportunity to study music with the goal of developing an appreciation for all genres of music as performers and listeners. Every student who desires to play an instrument is given instruction and encouraged to practice individually and in groups. Music fundamentals are emphasized in middle school and more sophisticated concepts and composition addressed in high school. Students perform ccertoncerts for the OCS community and their parents throughout the year. Extracurricular choral and band programs are available for interested students. (Click to enlarge photos)
