Opportunity Charter School is currently accepting resumes for positions in its middle and high school for the 2013-2014 school year in all subject areas.

Candidates must have New York State certification in their content area or field.Additional certification in Special Education is a plus. A minimum of two years’ experience and bachelor’s degree is required. Experience with special needs students and/or master’s degree preferred.

SPECIAL EDUCATION MATH TEACHER (HS)

Opportunity Charter School is seeking a dynamic Special Education Math teacher for its high school for the 2013-2014 school year.

This position comprises the teaching of some self-contained math classes and co-teaching inclusion math classes.

Applicants must have NYS Certification in Special Education 7-12, K-12, or 5-9. Additional certification in math is a plus; Master's degree and minimum of two years experience in the field is preferred.

LITERACY COACH

Opportunity Charter School is seeking a LITERACY COACH for the 2013-2014 school year. This position will work with all content areas to support reading and writing across the curriculum.

Applicant must be NYS certified and have experience teaching literacy at the middle and/or high school level; must have experience coaching and supporting teachers; must be familiar with the Common Core; and must be strong collaborators.

Master’s degree with at least two years’ experience and New York State literacy certification (grades 1-6 or 7-12) required

Experience teaching in an urban school setting is preferred and experience working with students with special needs is a plus
